About Shelley
I’m an avid athlete and competitor who’s played all over the world. But my greatest accomplishment was finding the healing and healthy processing tools I needed, and it’s my heart to help you find them too.
Sometimes sport is the gift we need to cope with our challenges, but there comes a time when it’s not enough.
I grew up in Tampa and was a passionate, fiery child who loved playing sports. Soccer became my love when I was ten and the rest is history. I played sports competitively through middle school, high school, college, U-23 national team and semi-professionally. I’ve competed all over the world and loved it. But it wasn’t until after college that I began my healing journey.
I lost my mom when I was a baby and grew up with a lot of extended family, and eventually a mixed family. It had its challenges. I’m thankful for all my years of soccer because sometimes sport is the gift we need to cope with our challenges. But there comes a time when it’s not enough. I stopped compartmentalizing my pain and began a journey to healing, wholeness and freedom.
“Courage doesn’t happen when you have all the answers. It happens when you are ready to face the questions you have been avoiding your whole life.”
